Happy new Mercedes-Benz owner- thank you Richard...Having decided that a 1980s Mercedes was what I needed to replace my old Lancia as my only car, I came across Richard's website. Taking Richard at his word, I telephoned him and received copious useful advice on what sort of Mercedes might meet my needs. Having looked at a mumber of disappointing cars elsewhere, I asked Richard to arrnange for me to see some of the cars on the Mercseller site. He strongly recommended two in particular to me, and I asked to see another on my own initiative. All three were first-class cars, well worth high recommendation. The sellers were all helpful and enthusiastic, and allowed me lengthy test drives. I decided on a 190E 2.6, which I have now had for nearly a month. The car is both smart-looking and very good mechanically. It has obviously spent its life in the hands of enthusiasts, and is well worth the investment of continued proper maintenance for the future. Richard continues to be generous of his time and advice. I strongly recommend Mercseller as a service enabling people who like and appreciate good cars to deal with one another with the mediation of knowledgeable advisers.

Thanks for all your help. I picked up the 6.9 on Tuesday as planned - we had some last minute probs over an MOT failure due to a cut seat belt but I taxed it on the old cert and came to an agreement with Maria. I have just got back as I stayed overnight on the way but the car drove brilliantly. I am putting a cheque in the post to you.

Richard is a very knowledgable guy when it comes to Mercedes and he made the whole selling process for me painless. The bonus was to see my beloved e220 coupe go to a lovely couple who I know will cherish it as much as I did.

Another W123 of to Lagos?...Hi Richard,
Looks like my cherished 230E has gone the way of many others--it vanished overnight from the car park in front of my house despite having a fortress lock and being overlooked by several flats.A warning to others in North London! If I decide to replace it I'll let you Know.

I can only share in all of your Pain !! I this weekend had my (nothing short of beautiful) 1985 230CE stolen from outside my house. I too live in NW10 which is clearly North West London, I am totally devastated as I loved the car so much and fear about replacing it with another, knowing potentially there are people out there stealing too order. It seems very well documented, is there nothing we can do and contact the police as a collective ??

I do know how you feel - and know its not coming back in one piece...
