Right! Gushing platitudes over with. I'm quite keen on PYE 93Y and didn't realise at all that it was your own car. Just let me know when you could be available for me to look at the car and that will be great. Like I said earlier I'm in no rush at all to buy a car so don't mind waiting for the right one for me to turn up. The money is available when the right car does comes along.

I'm now quite taken with the idea of a 280E and your opinions on desirable extras such as ABS, rev-counter, front centre armrest and made between 1983-85 were things I'd not thought of. You really have been very helpful and have narrowed my search criteria and wish list so that I now have a better understanding of the type of W123 I really want.

For your interest I can thoroughly recommend Hill Farm Garage of A30 Sutton Scotney, Winchester, Hampshire, SO21 3NS on 01962 760041. They were totally honest with me in their appraisal of the dud I bought from Ian Whitelaw and never tried to persuade me to get any work done. Comment By David Olley...I, too, would like to thank Richard for taking the time to talk to me about his favourite subject. He is very generous with his time - and patient. I am most definitely going to buy an older Merc - the W126 SEC seems to be the one I want! Just getting some other priority spending done first, though. Looking through the comments by Yanks on the Benzworld Bulletin Board, there are some comments about the W126 trannies being ready to expire at 115,000 mile or so. Can this be true?
Having forked out once for a reworked auto box for a Jag V12, I would not want to do that again.
Nice to hear good things about Hill Farm Garage, which is only a few miles from me. I assume they are familiar with MB.

That will do nicely, can we buy it please? I know that this is an unusual way to do it but if it's as good as you say it is (and I have no reason to doubt your opinion!) then it costs so much to come over and see it that it makes more sense to do it this way. We will of course pay the asking price. Please let me know who and how to do this. As for the seat, was the quote you mentioned to get it re-upholstered or replaced? If the former it would be much cheaper and easier to get it done before we collect the car as otherwise we will just have to send the seat backwards and forwards to the UK.

On Monday evening from 6pm onwards (29/03/2004) there is a Mercedes-Benz meet for all of the Mercseller Community, whether you are a buyer, seller, enthusiast, owner or just interested in meeting other Merc Enthusiasts then come along and meet Richard from Mercseller.com and other clients at The Ace Cafe (a retro diner, just off the North Circular Road A406)

Just to say many thanks for putting my wife and I in touch with Mr Spagnolo up in Scotland. The 450 SEL did more miles on its journey back to Staffordshire than it had in the previous three years! We are both bowled over by our new Mercedes which has only managed just 47,000 genuine miles since new in 1975. Surely the w116 was the best car they ever did, beats me why they're not valued much more highly, but thats my good luck I guess ; So this Christmas we shall be raising our glasses to you and your website. Thankyou for your advice over the phone, I'm absolutely sure that buyer and seller are both delighted. Apologies for not emailing sooner, but a series of glitches has made our machine fitful and erratic and also thanks for putting my artwork up on a link to your site. A Truly Great Service...As of the 11/12/03, thanks to Richard, I became the proud owner of the most immaculate 250 W114 saloon. Words can't describe how close to perfection this car is. Stepping into it is like travelling back in time! Without Richard and the service he provides I would never have found such a good car. Nothing was too much trouble and his help was invaluable. Anyone thinking of buying a Merc should speak to Richard first, because it is a much more pleasant experience than going to a dealer. He is an enthusiast and tells the truth!
